Usually you will find Claudy Jongstra's monumental artworks and architectural installations at museums the MoMa in New York, the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, or the Stedelijk in Amsterdam, in public buildings such as the OBA in Amsterdam and the library of the University of Pennsylvania.
Specialized optometrist Mark Abraham and consultant and architect Bridget Abraham commissioned Claudy Jongstra in 2020 to create a wool felt artwork that ties in with Abraham Eye Associates, their practice of ophthalmologists, opticians, and optometrists in the American city of Philadelphia.
“California Wild Flowers”, Claudy Jongstra's artwork for the lobby of the Figueroa Eighth building in Downtown Los Angeles, is based on the strength and resilience of Californian wildflowers. Her composition references Theodore Payne's ‘Wild Garden’ in Exposition Park in 1915.
