NAP + is a new refreshing and enriching addition to the cultural landscape. Initiators Sara Lang (Langart) and David van Doesburg (Stigtervandoesburg) give a nod to the ‘big business’ model of a classic art fair with this first edition of NAP+. In a former garage near Amsterdam Sloterdijk station, Galerie Fontana will show new work by renowned artist Claudy Jongstra and young talented painter Thijs Segers under the common denominator ‘Dialogues with Nature II’.
Both create artworks inspired by a profound relationship with nature and a deep commitment to the state of our natural world. Jongstra embraces the full potential of what the earth offers; using sheep's wool and her own colour palette distilled from ancient dyes, she creates her vibrant abstracted landscapes together with nature. Behind her artworks are messages about her unrelenting commitment to regenerative agriculture and safeguarding cultural heritage, increasing biodiversity and fostering social and ecological awareness.
