The work of renowned Spanish fashion designer Marcos Luengo and Dutch artist-activist Claudy Jongstra come together in an exhibition among the plant life of Madrid’s Real Jardín Botánico.
Claudy Jongstra sits down with New York architecture office Pembrooke&Ives to discuss her artistic process and the making of Radiant Constellation - a custom tapestry created for the primary bedroom of their Luxe Urban Expanision project in Manhattan.
The work, Botanical Fresco, is the crowning achievement of the sustainable renovation that the monumental foyer has undergone since 2021.
“In de huidige maatschappij word je als traag gezien als je de tijd neemt om dingen tot je te nemen. Terwijl dat langzamere, natuurlijkere tempo essentieel is als je iets wilt maken dat er echt toe doet”, weet kunstenaar Claudy Jongstra.
Sometimes an absolute surprise turns up: Niek Schoenmakers, owner of contemporary art and design gallery the Millen House, found this rare and significant piece of Dutch Design.
