Loads Collection

Loads Collection, initiated by Jongstra and her son, Jesk, is the first project emerging from Loads. Working collaboratively with changemakers in diverse fields – from biodynamic agriculture and regenerative shepherding to small-scale heritage yarn production – Loads Collection unites their transformative work. Together, Loads Collection collaborators form a net-positive textile system that incentivizes and supports craft preservation and ecosystem conservation through the creation of textiles and limited-edition garments and homeware.

Transparent partnerships with shepherds and Demeter-certified, biodynamic farmers, guarantee the highest quality natural fibres and plant-based colours, cultivated on a gentle scale in reciprocal, rather than extractive, relationships with the land.

Loads Collection textiles are made with an heirloom variety of biodynamic Egyptian cotton, grown, spun, and woven by Sekem, and dyed in Studio Claudy Jongstra’s natural dye lab with plants grown on biodynamic farms in Spain, Belgium, the Netherlands and the U.K.

The resulting Loads Collection textiles are 100% traceable and biodegradable mono-fabrics that demonstrate the transformative potential of biodynamic agriculture for textile systems (as well as food systems) to empower farmers, stimulate rural economies, and regenerate biodiversity across diverse biotopes.
