Art i Ecología
Claudy Jongstra presents a powerful selection of her signature tapestry artworks in the magnificent 15th-century hall of the Almudín. Designed as València's granary, the Almudín originally facilitated the storage, measurement, and distribution of wheat from farms in the surrounding countryside to people throughout the city.
'Art i Ecología' contributes to the legacy of ecological connection forged in this iconic space, with artworks created from wool and biodynamic dye plants grown on Jongstra's own biodynamic farm in Friesland, The Netherlands.

For the creation of the large-scale artworks at the center of this exhibition — 'Guernica de la Ecología' and 'Tangible Transformation I' — Jongstra partnered with shepherd María Pia Sánchez Fernández who raises Spanish Merino heritage sheep along historic, seasonal migration paths on her family ranch, Dehesa de la Rinconada, and with EntheosBio founders Ángel Amurrio and Raquel Guembe to grow coreopsis, chamomile, and sunflower natural dye plants on their biodynamic farm in Lerín.
'Tangible Transformation I' was first exhibited in 'Pastoral Futures. Wool Migrations' at Disseny Hub Barcelona in collaboration with Tornen les Esquelles.
'Art i Ecologia' is presented in partnership with Villa del Arte Galleries and Ajuntament de València.
